Brett Marl at
Pure Networks posted an
interesting
blog entry on the next generation
of wireless routers now in development. The
current standard of 802.11g carries speeds of up
to 54 mbps, but that's not enough for moving
huge files around your home, such as high
definition video. The next iteration is 802.11n,
which promises speeds of up to 600 mbps -- and,
according to Brett, the IEEE governing standards
committee expects to complete the guidelines by
2008.
