You can’t spell “pressure” without “PR.” That’s why, in the high-stakes world of publicity, sometimes it’s good to let off a little steam. And so it was a welcomed change of pace when Voxus hosted its annual summer party in September at the Family Fun Center & Bullwinkle’s Restaurant in Tukwila, WA. The choice of venue was certainly apt, for not only is Voxus its own tight-knit family, but we certainly know how to let loose and have fun. (Even if many of us were still working the phones with our clients during the festivities.)

The afternoon started with a barbecue buffet feast in the venue’s whimsical restaurant — themed as a throwback to the old Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

Of course, things got a little competitive, as they always do. Co-workers challenged each other to mini-golf, go-kart racing, laser tag and other assorted games of skill.

If there is a PR lesson to be gleaned here (aside from which Voxus staffers are big laser tag cheaters), it’s that events like this not only help businesses deliver a message to employees that their dedication is appreciated, but they also position the company as a desirable and rewarding place to come to work. In that sense, everyone came out a winner that day.
